23rd October 2007

On the 22nd October, 2007, the lawyer, Michael Martone was struck by a brain damage illness and looked very serious. He was admitted at the emergency unit at St. Luke's Hospital. After four days of examinations and intensive care, and because this type of illness is not stable and could be a risk to him, he was transferred to Zammit Clapp Hospital where he will undergo an intensive course of therapy rehabilitation.

On December 3rd, 2007, Avv. Michael Martone reacts very positively to rehabilitation. His great will and the skill of the medical staff and nurses are progressively achieving brilliant results. The illness that had struck the right side of the body is gradually decreasing but what is more positive is the absolute clarity that the patient is showing progress.

5 December 2007 The family of Avv. Michael Martone, have all shown the desire and will to continue to support unanimously their father in this cause. They have come in from abroad many times to assist him, however Mrs. Raffaella, Avv. Martone's wife remains in Malta to be with her husband. In these difficult days the sons and daughters of Avv. Martone have taken new steps to further protect the interests of the family. They also agreed to be constantly present on the island. The opponents and all those who have so severely damaged the family Martone will soon come to terms with its serious and criminal responsibility.

Motif for this website in Malta: SECOND PART

4Bearing in mind that the First Part of this "ill fated story" has been compiled mostly in Italian with only some inserts in English, after all it has resulted to be quite a success. I must honestly say I was not expecting so much.

This has induced us to prepare the Second Part as much as possible in English. It is being done in order to let our many friends know the serious and ackward implications both criminal and scandal - mongering of the whole story.

Visiting our website, you will find interesting news together with the various respective documents, which reveal the serious mathematical adulterations carried out by the "usual known people" with the only aim of making illegal profits to the detriment of others. As I already mentioned in the First Part, nothing will stop me from continuing my struggle until justice is reasonably imparted to me and my family, by receiving what is justly due to us. It is useless for the "usual known people" to make us think that they do not bother or that they do not even read what is continuously being published even in the press, both local and foreign. It will only worsen their position.

Dear Friends, continue to follow me and continue to send in your much appreciated comments.

1. In 1962, two Italian entrepreneurs (Ghidoli-Delle Piane) decided to set up a company in Malta, Malta & Europe Hotels Ltd. (MEH Ltd.), with a fully paid up share capital of LM 900,000 and the aim of building and operating a five star hotel on the Island.

L'Avv. I am the ex secretary of the Malta & Europe Hotels Ltd. I am not a frequent reader of MaltaToda but last Thursday I came across an article by Matthew Vella “BICAL owner lays claim to Excelsior shares” on the Internet.I feel I must ask the editor of The Malta Independent on Sunday for truth’s sake to publish the foregoing, in which I point out the many inaccuracies, lies and slanders, which I feel I must correct without entering into polemics.

I read carefully the article by Prof Alfred J. Baldacchino entitled "Revisiting the Excelsior saga" (TMIS, 1 July) and once again experienced the same sorrow I feel every time I hear about this seemingly unending saga.

Last year, the newly-appointed Italian ambassador to Malta Paolo Andrea Trabalza, accompanied beleaguered Italian businessman Michele Martone to a long-delayed meeting with Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi to discuss the 35-year-old saga of the Excelsior Hotel in Floriana, 51 per cent of which belonged to Dr Martone. At that meeting, Dr Gonzi promised he would study the case and give his reaction.
